I grew up in the Los Angeles area
immersed in its rich culture and diversity.
My life experiences mirror that of a typical California State University
Los Angeles (CSULA) student. Attending
public elementary, middle, and high schools prior to earning my undergraduate
and graduate degrees at CSULA have given me firshand knowledge of the barriers,
struggles, and most importantly the successes that CSU students
experience. I am able to relate to a
diverse student body by sharing similar stories, offering solutions, lending
insight, and serving as a role model as a successful product of CSU’s
educational system.
Currently, I have a Doctor of Education Degree in Learning Technologies from Pepperdine University with an emphasis in geoscience education and online learning. I have been teaching CSULA since 2005. I teach a variety of geology courses, which
include, but are not limited to, Physical Geology, Oceanography, Mineralogy, Historical
Geology, and the upper division natural science capstone course. I also teach both face-to-face and online
versions of the Natural Disasters class.
